Our pagers work with all products using the failsafe radio protocol and offering over 450m range (with repeaters for extended coverage), creating a convenient, simple and secure radio alarm network for resident domestic and professional carers.

The Send-iT telephone dialler range offers those living alone the ability to summon assistance automatically when required. The dialler uses landline technology to ensure no lost connection and guaranteed message delivery.

Versions are available to call neighbourhood carers only, to include emergency call centers or access local authority Telecare services.

Installation could not be easier, simply plug in the unit alongside your standard phone, connect the power lead and protection begins.

Monitors

Local Autodialer

The P117 autodialler can be triggered by any Alert-iT system, including radio linked units, to pass a voice message to a local carer.

Once triggered the unit first plays a loud tune for 30 seconds, which is intended to be heard anywhere in the house or garden so that false alarms may be cancelled. The unit then dials up to 8 numbers in turn delivering a voice message and waits a short while for a response. The system needs a positive key-press response and does not give up if a call is simply answered, e.g. by an answerphone.

While dialling a different tune is played and only stops when a the response is received from a carer. Thus the user has the reassurance that the technology has responded and that assistance is coming.

Two levels of alarm are possible, one for an urgent user concern and another to indicate that an equipment fault has occurred (e.g. battery low).

The dialler can also be used to access cellphones, which can be an alternative to using pagers. However it must be remembered that the failsafe delivery of a timely alarm message cannot be guaranteed with a cellphone.

Home alone support is available with a range of monitoring sensors such as the Badge-iT, a unique personal alarm badge to detect users falling, wandering or suffering panic attacks.

Enhanced Alarm Panel with Call Centre Dialling

Securahomes dialler

The Enhanced Alarm Panel not only communicates alarms from Alert-iT monitors to local carers or Telcare centres but can also connect to a range of security and other safety monitors (e.g. smoke or heat alarms).

The panel will be fitted by a trained installer along with all the required monitors. When an alarm is raise then local carers can be rung in sequence, ending with a Telecare Call Centre if no-one answers.

The unit includes a two way speech system so that the carer can speak or just hear the user to determine the correct course of action.

The dialler can also be used to access cellphones, before contacting the call centre as back-up.

Local Authority Telecare Connectivity

Local Authority Telecare Connectivity

The Telecare dialler is available for local authorities and professional installers to access the major Telecare provider call stations. The units is capable of communicating with these centres using a range of protocols, including Tunstall and CallID.

In addition to the full interface we can also provide a radio link from our monitors into any legacy Tunstall or Tynetec systems.

The dialler can also be used to access cellphones, before contacting the call centre as back-up.

DECT Phones

Cellphone

In new and refurbished build programs it is often deirable to incorporate telephone access with the alarm paging. Alert-iT have successfully integrated alarm messaging into a range of DECT telephones.

The DECT telephones offer freedom to the staff to make and receive voice calls throughout the building. These can be internal and external calls if required. In addition the telephones offer a messaging facility which is used to pass on the Alert-iT system alarms.

To improve the integrity of the system the Alert-iT system will incorporate a TEST alarm module which will activate an alarm at least every shift. The staff are then aware of any equipment failure which might prevent the alarms being notified. As back-up an Alert-iT failsafe radio pager is still at the centre of the system and can be used at any time.

Full alarm and call logging is available in the system.

Pager for resident carers

The mainstay of the Alert-iT range is the pager, designed to notify alarms to a resident carer. The pager is capable of receiving the failsafe SAFELINK radio protocol over a range of up to 450m outdoors. It is specifically designed as a simple care pager and hosts a range of unique features tailored to this care role.

There are two versions of the pager. A three channel version is available, aimed at the domestic and smaller care homes. A 32 channel version is available to support the larger care homes. All versions offer the same capability to notify 4 levels of alarm (Urgent, Help, Assist or Fault) as well as detect failure in the communication channel with a monitor, hence ensuring no major equipment failure can leave the user unprotected. It can give audible alerts or be used in silent or vibrate modes.

They are fitted with rechargeable batteries giving over 100 hours operation after full charge.

For the larger care homes a repeater can be used to boost the signal and increase the range indefinitely.

Nurse Call Connectivity

P155B

As well as passing the alarm information by radio, all the Alert-iT monitors can be connected to legacy Nurse Call systems and activate the established notification system.

Most of the monitors feature a relay output that can offer normally open, normally closed or changeover activation of a Nurse Call. A range of connecting leads is available for the major Nurse Call systems and specials are always considered.

If the monitor requires radio connection (e.g. Badge-iT or the Door Switch), then a radio gateway is available (P155B) which is coupled to the monitor and will trigger a nurse call point within radio range.

Alternatively the P137 pager can be connected to a nurse call via the P146 Docking Station. This then allows staff to note the room or user in need from the display, when the alarm is raised via a single Nurse Call point.

Suitability

Domestic carers

Domestic carers (and smaller care homes) usually require that the alarm is notified to our totally portable pager, which features failsafe technology and usually sufficient range to cover house and garden.

The domestic pager works with up to three different monitors and automatically prioritises the alarms according tom severity. The 450m outdoor range is the longest available and coupled with the failsafe “Safelink” signals it will never leave the user unprotected. The pager is specially designed for care use and is simple and easy to use offering audible & silent operation (with vibrate)

Living alone

For those living alone we can offer a telephone dialler that can alert a local carer or more advanced diallers that can also access call-centres for support.

Read our Autodialer leaflet

Our basic dialler is low cost and has no monthly charges. It simply dials a sequence of numbers until the call is acknowledged and passes an audible message to the recipient. In the meantime the user is given an assurance tune to confirm the dialling activity. The more advanced system uses a special control panel to dial both local carers and finally a call-centre. It features two-way speech for confirmation of assitance. The panel can also double as an intruder alarm system. We can similarly activate the call-centres associated with Telcare providers (such as local authorities, Tunstall or Tynetec).

Professionals and Care Homes

For the care professionals in residential homes, flat support, schools and colleges we can offer our pager with 32 client capacity and 450m range. Alternatively we can use long range licensed pagers or even send alerts through a DECT telephone system.

Support for Professional Care Leaflet

Our radio alarm network has the highest degree of reliability and integrity available. The failsafe "Safelink" protocol and long range (with repeaters if needed) ensures easy and secure installation without any expensive infrastructure or labour costs. To assist the professional we offer a risk assessment spreadsheet (with explanation and example sheets) to validate the acceptability of any installation and a client assessment form to help choose the correct monitor for their condition. We are also always on hand via our helpline.

Care Providers

The Alert-iT monitors are chosen by many councils, educational establishments, independent living providers and respite facilities as the basic protection for all kinds of conditions because of their diverse sensing capability and ease of programming. Our design team will be pleased to act as your consultant in defining the optimum assistive technology framework for your clients, into which our products can play a vital part.

Support for Professional Care Leaflet

iTs Designs was chosen in 2010 to provide a full Assistive Technology installation at three new builds in Leicester and one refurbishment in Nottingham. This included consultancy, provision, installation, training and support for not only the health monitoring but also Staff Attack, Telephone communications (speech and alarms) and Door Access control.
